Perricone Anti-Inflamatory Diet

One of the newest diets out there is the Perricone Anti-Inflammatory Diet. This diet forms the basis of his Perricone Program. Basically, the idea here is that eating the right anti-inflammatory foods and drinking the correct beverages will help you stay young looking, prevent some diseases that are associated with aging, and help prevent several degenerative conditions. By eating an anti-inflammatory diet, you can help keep your skin looking young, keep your energy levels up, and even help fight off bad moods.
So what goes into an anti-inflammatory diet? Mostly, you need to eat a lot of food that is high in protein, but not just any protein. It needs to be what is considered high-quality protein, which mainly comes from fish, poultry, tofu, and shellfish. You also need to have a good amount of low-glycemic carbohydrates, or those that will not cause a glycemic response. These foods include colorful vegetables and fruits and whole grains like beans, lentils, and oatmeal.
You also need to have some healthy fats. Again, these mostly come from fish, especially coldwater fish like halibut, herring, anchovies, and sardines. You can also get servings of these fats from seeds, olive oil, and nuts.
Those are the main foods included in Dr. Perricone’s diet, but what about drinks? Basically, you need to get your eight to ten glasses of water every day. You can supplement this with drinks that are rich in antioxidants, like green tea.
If you follow Dr. Perricone’s Anti-Inflammatory Diet, you’ll find yourself feeling healthier and looking younger. It can also help you control your insulin and blood sugar levels, making it ideal for diabetics. If you start on the diet, you should see results in as little as three days, although to keep these results, you’ll need to faithfully stick to it.
